The Reputed Mentor of Fatah al-Islam and other notorious Islamist terrorists operating in Lebanon and Iraq was gunned down in Syria Friday.
Mahmoud Gul Aghasi, a Kurd who goes by the name of Abu al-Qaaqaa, was killed by a gunman who stepped out of a car and opened fire at him from an automatic weapon as he walked out of a mosque in the northern Syrian city of Aleppo after Friday noon prayers, according to an Agence France Presse report attributed to witnesses and medical sources.

US House votes to ’strongly back’ Siniora Cabinet

WASHINGTON: US Congressman Gary L. Ackerman led
the House of Representatives Wednesday in pass a resolution calling for
strong US support for the government of Lebanon by a vote of 415 to 2.
Ackerman, the chairman of the House Subcommittee on the Middle East and
South Asia, warned the House that “Lebanon is being bullied by Iran,
Syria and their proxies, Hizbullah, Amal and Michel Aoun’s Free
Patriotic Movement.

Hariri, Geagea and Sfeir promise a strong president for Lebanon

Beirut – Future Movement leader Saad
Hariri met separately with Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Sfeir and
Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea Thursday and discussed the
“qualities” of a new president.
After
an unscheduled meeting with Sfeir at Bkirki, the seat of the Maronite
church, Hariri assured the Lebanese that they will have a “strong
president” before Nov. 23.
Responding to a question, Hariri said that “we did not go through names. We reviewed qualities of a president for the republic.”
